Two-sided markets are characterized by having an intermediary and two groups of end-users. In the cruise\nmarket, the cruise line plays the role of intermediary to connect cruise tourists and cruise ports. In our theoretical\nmodeling, we find that the cruise line might be a hybrid intermediary, selling its own ship-based products and\nservices, and also offering a platform to connect cruise tourists and cruise ports. This distinctive business model is\nalso reflected in the pricing scheme, whereby cruise ports charge an entry fee from the cruise lines and port dues\nfrom the cruise tourists. This is because of an industrial organization in which the upstream providers (cruise ports)\nhave some bargaining power over both the downstream consumers (cruise tourists) and the intermediaries (cruise\nlines). From the view of two-sided markets, the cruise port as one end-user needs to get on board the platform of\nthe cruise lines, in order to have transaction with the other end-user, the cruise passengers. In our study, a quasitwo-\nsided cruise market and a hybrid intermediary might exist in the cruise market, both of which are significantly\nvaluable for the strategies of the cruise lines and the cruise ports. In the context of the Asian cruise markets, cruise\nports are pursuing active strategies, utilising the platforms of the cruise lines and adapting to the demand of cruise\ntourists. So, the cruise line is regarded as the platform, and its optimization is influenced by the subsidy from the\ncruise ports. The study offers a provisional test of this idea on Japanese ports. The results are rarely significant and\ncall for further empirical research....
Our study has explored the effects of leadership traits on organizational performance in hospitals and health care\nindustry. The core objective of this study was to examine the effect of leadership traits and behavior on performance\nof hospitals. Transactional and transformational leadership traits were measured. Transformational leadership\ntraits and performance/results measured relevantly in the study was leaders charisma, individual consideration and\ntheir inspirational motivation; extra effort, effectiveness, and satisfaction, in that order. Transactional leadership\ntraits and performance/result variables were positive/contingent incentive or rewards and corrective actions/\nmanagement by exception; and effort, productivity and commitment/loyalty, correspondingly. In this study we adapt\na survey questionnaire, and employed evaluative quantitative analysis method. Analysis was based on primary\ndata generated through a planned Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ) administered on participants.\nThe answers to research questionnaire were scaled on likerts scale and converted to quantitative data to enable\nsegmentation of the data responses into the independent and dependent variables assumed on leadership traits\nand connected performance variables. The model which was used in the study was OLS linear regression model\nto estimate and evaluate the results. The result illustrates that although transformational leadership traits had\npositive effect on performance but it is insignificant while transactional leadership trait had an important constructive\neffect on organization and employees performance. The study also analyzed that transactional leadership trait was\nmore suitable in inducing and enhancing performance in hospitals than transformational leadership style and, as\na result, transactional leadership trait/behaviors is recommended for the health care organization/hospitals with\nintegral policies and strategies for evolution to transformational leadership style as the hospitals matured, grew and\ndeveloped....

The study adopts a quantitative approach based on questionnaire development and\ndistribution that resulted in a total sample of 1000 students. Empirical data was analyzed using SPSS-20 software program.\nFirst, in relation to gender results indicate that overall male students perceive more benefits in dealing with m-commerce\nthan the female student feel. Second, concerning age, results show that students who are in the age group of ââ?¬Ë?17~19ââ?¬â?¢ feel\nmore benefits in dealing with m-commerce than the students who are in the age group of ââ?¬Ë?20~moreââ?¬â?¢ feel.
